BPA Free Sassy MAM UltiVent Bottles Now Available

The new MAM UltiVent Baby Bottles have only been available at Target and Amazon.com until recently. We’re excited to finally have them in our hot little hands!

They look like a well-thought-out, yet affordable safer baby bottle option. We read through some of the reviews on Amazon.com and found the following thoughts from current users:

  • They are good bottles and the nipples (silicone) work well for our son (age 3 mos). The only problem, and the reason I gave it four stars, is that the lid where you insert the nipple can warp if you boil it for sterilization, and then there can be major leakage around where the nipple should seal. This is a function of its being PP instead of the tougher PC plastic. So, soap and water on the lids! You can boil the silicone nipples.
  • I love these bottles! I spent so much time looking for a “baby-safe” plastic bottle that would make the transition from breast to bottle easy, and these bottles fit the bill! I have never had any problems with leakage at all (you just need to make sure all of the seals are firmly in place). My son (5 months) loves these bottles – and with the vent system he hardly has any gas at all! I would definitely recommend these to any moms out there trying to make the transition from breast to bottle.

Has anyone else had experience using the MAM UltiVent Bottles? Please share with us!

I love these bottles! If your baby needs a bottle that vents–it’s amazing! It takes a few times to get used to the assembly–if done wrong, the bottle will leak. but once you learn to do it right, no problems. For bottles that vent so well, they are not a pain to wash at all (this is the reason I went with these over the Born Free ones).

I, too, absolutely love these bottles and highly recommend them! The nipple is a great shape and my daughter took to it very easily. There are quite a few parts to wash, but it is so easy and completely worth it when you consider the health benefits of a safe plastic. Definitely be careful to really wrench the bottom and valve onto the bottle or it will leak. They do take a bit longer to heat, but again…it’s all about keeping our babies happy, healthy and safe!!

  3. Jeremiah says:

We never used these bottles but they look so cool. MAM also makes a breast pump now but they aren’t yet approved to sell it in the U.S. Hopefully this will happen and Sassy will distribute it.

  4. Jeremiah says:

Oh, but we don’t know for sure that all parts of that breast pump are BPA-free. They may very well be, but we haven’t confirmed it. The shields could be PC, but they haven’t responded to ZRecs’ inquiries so far.

  5. kelly says:

We love these bottles as well. Not only are they BPA-free, but the nipple has been one of the best for my breastfed daughter who refuses all paci’s and bottles.

  6. danielle says:

Hi, has anyone had trouble with the valve not opening and closing and getting a bit of a vacuum in the bottle? We get alot of bubbles while feeding and baby has to release and then more bubbles flow in. Is there a trick to the valve? It seems like it would be a great, sturdy, baby friendly bottle if I could get it to work right.

  7. danielle says:

okay, still having trouble with the vent on the mam bottles, we get a constant vacuum which is what the bottle is advertised not to do. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that this bottle is not all what it is supposed to be, contrary to alot of good reviews..if you check out online reviews at walmart, target, etc where these bottles can be purchased, many reviewers are having the same difficulties. I have been in contact with sassy baby products company over the last few days and I must add that they do not have very good customer service, the rep pretty much blamed the vacuum on the way my baby suckles, I find this insane being that my baby is breast fed and that is what the bottles are really for, transitioning to the bottle..they refused to refund my money and wouldnt even give me a lousy coupon for another bottle or product…on the other hand, the evenflo company is absolutely wonderful at helping customers, even sent me a new pack of nipples because we had some defective ones in a pack we purchased, they even sent me a comp pack of cap rings…choose wisely when purchasing your baby bottles and beware, just because a bottle is bpa free does not make it a good working bottle.

  8. marcie says:

We have used the same 5 MAM bottles for 20 mos. We are down to 1 bottle now but have never had a problem. if you do not screw on the bottom tight you will have leaks. I did find one time I had the vaccume affect (came in and the nipple was inside the bottle) what I found was milk had clogged the little tiny hole on the nipple rim, washed it good and no more issues.I love this bottle!!1

  9. Elena says:

I have been using MAM for about a month now, and I have not had any problems with them at all. I do not boil the bottles or its parts. I use my Medela steam clean bag and the dishwasher to get everything clean. The vent works just great, as long as all the parts are really put in correctly, which is pretty easy if you have half a brain and one minute to spare. The only downside is that it does take a while to heat the milk, so I tell my sitters to warm it in the storage bags first and then pour it into the bottle. Other than that, these bottles rock and are totally cute too.

  10. Henri says:

I have been using these bottles for about 3 years.
First with my daughter a few years back and now with my son.
We started using them initially because they were the only bottle my daughter would transition to from the breast.
I love the bottles, easy to clean, yes you have to screw the bottom on tight but once you get used to it, it’s easy.
Happy to learn they are also BPA free.

  11. Denise says:

I recently purchased these bottles on Amazon as Target.com was sold out. I must say when I first got them I didn’t think I was going to like them however I am so happy that I gave them a try. My daughter has less gas and it was really easy for her to get use to them. I usually hand wash or toss them in the dishwasher but I did boil the nipples before first using them. I have yet to have a problem with leaks. I agree with Elena that it does take awhile to warm up these bottles as they are a lot thicker. The only thing I don’t like about these bottles is they don’t have a cap lid but the lid that comes with it is very tight. I am so happy with these bottles and I cant’ wait to recommend them to my friends and family!

  12. Molly says:

I have been using these bottles for my 5 month old daughter for 3 months now. She started out on Born Free but got gassy using those. I have never had a problem with the vacuum on these bottles–the only thing I would change is the lids are really hard to pull off if you are holding baby in one hand and trying to pull lid off in the other. Other than that I had about two leak experiences and have learned my lesson about tightening the bottom real good :) Minor complaint would be if you use a bottle warmer they do leak milk into the warmer so you have to clean it out real good and clean bottom of bottle so as not to leak on baby when feeding him/her.

  13. Andrea says:

I have used these for the past year and a half and they are great! No problems whatsoever (I never tried to boil them though). Just make sure you screw the bottom on right and the top on right and you’ll have no leaking issues. I was excited to see them on your website!

  14. Joyanna says:

This is the only bottle my breastfed baby will accept. I want to second every good thing (and the warnings about leaking if it’s not on tight enough and the cap being really hard to pull off) but also say that I have boiled every part of these bottles several times (had to when in a foreign country with no running hot water) and have never had any part of it warp, not even the cap.

  15. Tiffany says:

My son loves this bottle he is only two mons old and i have tryed every bottle in the world from dr. brown to evenflo he did not like them, then I bought these bottles and my son loves them.. they are good bottles..

  16. kamini says:

i have a bottle warmer. can mam ultivent bottles be used in this type of warmer, without any leakage?

  17. vron says:

can you get a mam microwave sterilizer? can you use an avent microwave sterilizer? tia

  18. Ashley says:

We have tried numerous BPA free bottles and this one by far wins for us because of the nipple. It’s really great for breastfed babies. We tried Thinkbaby, but even the new slow flow, cross-cut nipples are too fast (although we love the bottles). The good news is, this nipple fits the Thinkbaby bottles with no problems. We tried the Evenflo Select Comfort nipples which we really like, but they are a little too fast for a newborn. We do like that they fit most all standard neck bottles making them more of a wide-mouth, but the nipple collapses. It was nice having these for Medela bottles which is what I pump into. Also nice to be able to make the inexpensive Gerber bottles into wide-mouth. Playtex, Avent (not a good latch on for us), Gerber, none of these nipples worked for us.

I highly recommend saving your money and going straight for this option. If you’ve already purchased the more expensive options like Thinkbaby, GTG (wide) or Born free and you aren’t happy with the nipples, try these nipples. They should work with these bottles.

After we discovered these nipples (we bought the nipples only since The Soft Landing said they fit with the Thinkbaby bottles), we tried the Mam Ultivent bottle itself and were so impressed. Much less air gets in our little guy’s tummy. It’s a cinch to clean and the cost is reasonable. And they are much cuter in person. We boiled all components with no warping, leaks, etc.

  19. Meredith says:

Does anyone know what other nipples will fit the MAM bottles? My son has been using the vent aires and we would like to switch to a BPA free bottle. These bottles are a nice price, but he won’t take the nipple. Maybe too different for him? We have tried born free #3 and they tend to collapse a little (he does have rice cereal in his bottles for reflux) Would the Dr. Brown’s wide nipple work? Any one try anything else?

  20. Dragonfly80608 says:

I need help, does the ultivent nipple fit any other BPA free bottle?

My son likes the nipple but I would like to see if they fit any other BPA free bottle that would make warming faster for daycare.

    Thanks!!

  21. softlanding says:

    Hi Dragonfly,

It’s so funny that you mention that right now, because we just finished playing with our bottles AGAIN :)

We found that the Avent nipple will fit several wide neck bottles, but the only one we know of that doesn’t leak is the Nuby Wide Neck bottle with handles.

You will need to use the Avent bottle collar along with the nipple for it to work well.

  22. Andrea E says:

The Born Free Nipples work just great and fit perfectly with the MAM bottles. That’s what we’re doing now and it works awesome. Have not had one problem!!

  23. Andrea E says:

Vice versa with what I just mentioned above. The MAM nipples work the Born Free bottles. They are the same size circumfrance exaclty. Although we do it the other way around with the MAM bottles and Born Free Nipples.

  24. Courtney says:

I am a mom of 6 so I have tried every bottle imaginable. I used the MAM bottles with my twins for 1 year. I absolutely loved them. They are much easier to clean than other bottles and I never had a problem with leakage. The shape of the nipple made it easy for my twins to switch between the bottle at daycare and the breast at home. And I can not forget how cute they are. I just loved these bottles.

  25. VERONICA says:

i have been using the MAM bottles since my son was born and they have always always leaked even after thoroughly following instructions, It doesn’t bother me enough to stop using them. I also use the Born Free glass bottles and plastic bpa free with no leaks. Also Dr Browns new bpa free as well with no leaks. This (MAM) BOTTLE would be the only one i have leakage problems with. I also recently purchased a new Avent sippy cup that is also Bpa Free so if anyone does feel that the MAM bottles leak to much there are many more option available.

  26. happy mom says:

Love love love these bottles! My daughter is almost 4 months old and we started out with the playtex drop ins. I thought I just had a fussy baby. Turns out it was gas. I came across these MAM bottles and I tell everyone now I have the happiest baby in the world. These bottles are a lifesaver. The plastic is thicker and takes awhile to heat. If I am in a hurry, I will just pour the milk into a bag and warm it. Highly recommend these bottles, no problems with leaking. Love them, thanks MAM for giving me a happy baby!!

  27. ANGIE K says:

WE LOVE THEM MY GRANDDAUGHTER TAKES SHE PASSY AND WE THOUGHT WE WOULD TRY THE BOTTLES AND WE LOVE THEM, ONLY PROBLEM IS WE CANNOT GET THEM LOCAL, WE HAVE NOT STORES THAT CARRY THEM.

  28. Happymomof4 says:

These bottles are awesome! I have been using these since my son was a month old, hes 4 months now. Since using my son has been really happy and gas free. Hes not fussy at all. I tried other bottles here and there but none have done any good but these. So these are what we will be using as long as he will need to use a bottle.

They do not leak if you use them right. For those who are having problems with leaks are because the valve and valve cover are wet. You have to put these together after they have dried.

I wish more stores carry them. I either order from drugstore.com, who are presently having a sale w/ free shipping or a local Babiesrus when in stock.

Does anyone know if mam nipples will fit on Dr. Brown wide neck bottles?

  30. Michelle says:

I have used these bottles from birth as they were amazing in the transition from breast to bottle. (although still BM used) But mine too leaked at the screw on top after about 3 months. I am happy to know that they are BPA free but gutted as I started using the Advent bottles at about 6 months of age and they are not!!
*Meredith* the Advent teats fit the MAM bottles but the lid squashes them down.

  31. Wendy says:

These bottles are the best… I have tried few bottles with no luck, and one day I was in a hurry and forgot to pack the bootles ( dr. Brown) so I went to the pharmacy close by and bought MAM without knowing how it was going to work and it has been amazing she drinks out it and gets no gas. to make it worst i’m out of town and I wash the bottles before I left the house and left the bottles drying YEAH they are still drying at home and in Miami it has been a pain to find them nobody carries these bottles……She has gotten so use to these. and I love them easy to clean and not that many pieces.

  32. Regina says:

Has anyone else had a problem with these bottles after the formula is heated, where it starts streaming out of the bottle when turned upside down? It's not a leak and the bottle is assembled correctly. I am using slow flow nipples. When the formula is cold and the bottle is turned upside down, it simply drips out. But as soon as I warm the formula it streams out and my baby is unable to drink from it because it makes him choke. I even tried putting the all ready heated formula into a cold bottle from the fridge. I tested the cold milk from that bottle and it dripped, but then when I added the lukewarm formula, it ran out of the nipple. It is so frustrating. I have spent so much money on these bottles all ready. When I first bought them I didn't realize they came with medium flow nipples, which he couldn't use. So I just bought 8 slow flow nipples and now he can't use those. I have been using Playtex Nursers with the inserts while I was waiting on the new nipples to come in. I didn't want to have to keep buying disposable inserts. But I guess I will have to stick with them, since these bottles are useless to me.

  33. Thanks for the post I enjoyed reading it, keep posts like this coming, I am totally impressed!
