I don't think Babies R Us are exchanging BPA for BPA free bottles here. In fact I think the Dr Brown's bottles being sold are still the BPA ones, I am trying to find out if they are BPA free or not. The bottles we have are the wide neck ones. It's all very confusing and the issue has only just come to light here in the last few months!

Babies R Us offers the program to exchange BPA bottles for BPA-free bottles. I had read that they'd stopped doing it in August, and I'd also read that you had to bring in the full assembly to get credit, but I just brought in a bunch of Avent bottles (some full assembly, some not) to one of the BRU's here in Atlanta today and they told me no problem! I didn't have to have a receipt or anything! I exchanged them for Dr. Brown's! Check with your local BRU first though - although the order to do the exchange comes from corporate, I've read that some stores are telling their customers no anyway.

FYI - I tried my Medela medium flow nipples on the Dr.Brown's P.P. bottles and it seems to work fine!! No leaks! Yay!

Also - Playtex will be releasing BPA-Free Ventaire bottles in Canada first (apparently they are already shipped) and in the US in the Fall!! I have heard these are good for colic, reflux etc too!!

I used Dr. Brown's wide neck with my first daughter and washed the bottles by hand as the BPA scare was just beginning and by the time we found out it could be harmful, she was ready to transition to a sippy cup. I was so excited to see BPA free. I actually emailed Dr. Brown's and by September 08 they should have 2, 4 and 8 oz standard and 8 oz wide neck on the market! I am very excited to use these for my second child due in Nov.

I noticed some of you said you "traded them in??" Where can you do this? I still have all of the bottles and would love to do an exchange for safe ones!!

Stephanie,

Hello! I read your post about Dr. Brown's bottles. Which warmer are you using for your glass bottles?

Thanks!

Anyone using the Dr. Brown Vent Parts with the Green to Grow bottles -? I'm having trouble getting the Green to Grow cap (the part that holds the nipple) back onto the standard Green to Grow bottle using the Dr. Brown vent system. Is there a secret I don't know about? Thanks for anyone with advice?

I believe a trait of polypropylene plastic is they keep the smell of their contents. I still smell formula, even after cleaning them. I have been using Dr. Brown's from the start and I switched to the new polypropylene bottles as soon as they became available. My son had no problem with the switch. I love that I can use all of my existing nipples with these.
